The Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)/Asset Prioritization (AP) Facilitator Course (built on the more formal RCM2 methodology) designed and intended for use on less critical assets as determined through the AP process.

Maintenance Task Analysis —Fast & Effective Analysis for Less Critical Assets.

Apply Maintenance Tasks Analysis to define and identify failure modes and determine the recommended maintenance tasks for physical assets.

Strategic Axis experience shows that our clients prefer to train in RCM2 and through the guidance of the Practitioners apply the less rigorous process on less critical assets (where applicable). They believe a deeper understanding of the RCM process is required if one wishes to “shortcut” the process.

Asset Prioritization (AP) is a facilitated practice that helps identify the relative risk and consequence priority of asset failure across safety, environmental, operational and non-operational factors.

The output of an AP facilitated session will help determine what reliability strategy should be used (RCM2, MTA or other) and what the consequences of failure are for each system and asset.

Strategic Axis Practitioner can help to facilitate this critical step in Asset Strategy Development.

MTA is a failure mode and effects based methodology used to validate and improve existing maintenance and reliability programs.

While Ivara RCM2™ is the most rigorous approach ideal for critical assets, MTA provides an accelerated process for lower risk assets.

MTA is used to rapidly validate the current maintenance tasks in your CMMS/EAM against known or likely failure modes. Where these tasks are not well developed or documented, MTA is an excellent tool to capture existing operator and trade asset knowledge.

Typically used on medium to low-risk assets, MTA is a facilitated risk-based approach that links RCM2 thinking with a less formal approach to failure mode analysis.

Maintenance Task Analysis —Fast & Effective Analysis for Less Critical Assets

Apply FMEA methodology, Maintenance Tasks Analysis to define failure modes and determine the recommended maintenance tasks for physical assets.

MTA provides an accelerated process for lower risk assets. MTA can provide coverage across the bulk of an asset base to develop technically sound maintenance programs for optimal asset performance.

The MTA process can be efficiently recorded.

MTAs can be stored as templates, so the results can be very quickly applied to improve the performance of all like assets, allowing for asset-specific adjustments where required.

The indicators, failure modes, and action plans are part of a broad analysis of all known and visible failure modes associated with a particular technical system.

Benefits:

*Asset Prioritization

*Strategy Selection

*Maintenance Task Analysis

IMPORTANT COURSE INFORMATION

Participants who fully attend this course and complete the test on the last day will receive a Strategic Axis Professional Certificate (SAPC). SAPC certificates are regionally recognized and can be quite valuable when applying for more senior roles within the organization or outside.
